GridAssure ("we", "us") provides electricity bill auditing services to Australian businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
When you request an audit or contact us we collect: your name, business name, email address and phone number; electricity bills you provide; and interval meter data (NEM12 files) for your business's meters. Meter data and bills relate primarily to your business, but may include personal information such as names and site addresses.
Solely to provide our services: validating your data, analysing your electricity charges, preparing your audit report, pursuing agreed credit claims or tariff changes on your behalf, and communicating with you. We do not sell personal information or meter data, and we do not use your data for marketing to third parties.
We disclose information only where needed to deliver the service you have engaged us for — for example, to your electricity retailer or network distributor under your written authority — or where required by law. Our systems use reputable service providers for email and hosting; some providers may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure any provider protects your information consistently with Australian privacy law.
Data is stored in access-controlled systems and retained only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your data at any time and we will do so unless we are legally required to retain it.
You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by emailing audits@grid-assure.com. We respond within a reasonable period.
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will work to resolve it promptly. If unresolved, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
