Network bill assurance · Australia

Half your power bill is regulated.
Nobody checks it.

Network charges — the poles-and-wires half of a commercial electricity bill — are set by your local distributor and passed straight through. Wrong tariffs, billing errors and one bad half-hour spike leak thousands a year, silently. We re-calculate every network charge from your own meter data, every month, and recover what leaks.

The problem

One bill. Two very different halves.

Your retailer's bill bundles the competitive electricity charge with the regulated network charge. Brokers fight over the first half. The second half — often 40–50% of the total — sits in an accountability vacuum: the retailer just passes it through, the distributor has no reason to correct it, and you have no tools to re-derive it.

Energy (retail) ~50–60% · competitive

The electricity itself. Negotiable, shopped by brokers, squeezed hard. Already well served — not our territory.

Network (regulated) ~40–50% · unchecked

Rent for the wires, set annually by your monopoly distributor from a public tariff menu, passed through untouched. Not negotiable — but frequently wrong, and frequently not the cheapest eligible menu item. This is our entire focus.

Leak 01

Stale tariff assignment

Distributors publish a menu of network tariffs and re-price it every July. Your site was assigned to one years ago — often by default — and nobody re-checks eligibility against how you actually use power now.

Leak 02

Demand-charge spikes

Most C&I tariffs bill your single highest 30-minute draw each month — sometimes locking it in for 12 months. One coincident equipment start can cost more than a month of actual usage.

Leak 03

Plain billing errors

Wrong tariff codes, missed July rate updates, wrong demand reads, power-factor penalties. Nobody re-derives the bill from raw interval data — so errors persist for years.

What we do

Every bill, every site, re-calculated from your meter data.

Your smart meter records usage every 30 minutes. We ingest that raw data, rebuild what your network charges should be under your distributor's published rules, and compare it to what you were billed. Three layers of protection, running continuously.

Layer 1 · Monthly

Assure

Billed vs. should-have-been-billed, checked line by line every month.

  • Misapplied tariff codes & rates
  • Missed July price updates
  • Wrong demand reads
  • Power-factor penalties
  • Credits recovered on your behalf
Layer 2 · Annual

Optimise

Your actual usage simulated against every eligible tariff on the distributor's public menu.

  • Cheapest legal structure identified
  • Reassignment filed via your retailer
  • Re-run automatically at every July re-price
  • Reassignment window guarded so you never miss it
Layer 3 · Live

Defend

The exact half-hours setting your demand charges — found, priced, and fixed operationally.

  • Peak events alerted within days, not on next month's bill
  • Ratchet-tariff protection (one spike can bill for a year)
  • Specific fixes: stagger, reschedule, sequence
  • No batteries, no hardware, no capex

What the leak looks like in dollars.

Illustrative site · refrigerated warehouse · Sydney

60,000 kWh a month. One avoidable spike. Two findings.

Current: flat "anytime" network tariff
Fixed supply$90
Energy — all usage @ flat rate$4,800
Network total / month$4,890
Eligible alternative: demand tariff, same public menu
Fixed supply$120
Energy — peak window$600
Energy — off-peak$1,200
Demand — after peak fix$1,140
Network total / month$3,060
$14k/yr — tariff reassignment
$7.9k/yr — demand spike fixed, zero capex
$22k/yr — total, one mid-sized site

The process

From first email to money recovered.

Send us your data

Sign a simple letter of authority. Provide recent bills and 12–24 months of interval meter data (your retailer supplies it on request — we'll walk you through the 5-minute ask).

Free audit, findings in dollars

Our engine re-derives every historical bill, tests every eligible tariff, and locates every peak event. You receive a one-page findings report per site: what leaked, what's recoverable, what's avoidable.

We harvest

Credit claims filed, tariff reassignment lodged via your retailer, demand-fix playbook handed to your operations team. Money lands in your account — then we invoice our share.

Continuous assurance

The same leaks reopen constantly: rates reset every July, one spike can set a year of charges, errors recur. Monthly monitoring re-checks every bill, watches every peak live, and guards your reassignment window — with a one-page dollar statement every month.

Pricing

You only pay when you make money.

Findings & recoveries

Share of savings · verified, time-capped

A percentage of recovered overcharges and of verified first-year savings from changes we drive. Verified means re-rated on your own meter data — before vs. after, identical usage. No finding, no fee.

Monthly assurance

Per meter / month · flat, cancel anytime

Continuous re-checking of every bill, live peak alerts, July re-price re-optimisation and reassignment-window guarding across your whole portfolio. Trivial against the bill it protects.

Common questions

Before you ask.

What's a NEM12 file and how do I get it?

It's the standard file of your smart meter's half-hourly readings — your retailer must provide it on request, free. Email us and we'll send you the exact two-line request to forward to your retailer. Takes five minutes; they typically respond within ten business days.

What does the audit cost?

Nothing. The audit is free, always. We only earn a share of money that actually lands — recovered overcharges or verified savings from changes we drive. No finding, no fee, ever.

How are savings "verified"?

By subtraction, on your own data: we re-calculate your charges on identical usage before and after any change. It's arithmetic against published price schedules, not an estimate on a slide.

Do you change our electricity retailer?

Only if you ask us to. The audit sometimes shows your retail rates are also above market — if so, we can assist with a retailer comparison and switch as a separate, optional step. The core audit works whoever your retailer is, and you never have to change anything to receive it.

Is our data safe?

Your meter data is commercially sensitive and we treat it that way: used solely to produce your audit, never sold or shared, deleted on request. See our Privacy Policy.

Will this disrupt our supply or equipment?

No. Everything happens on paper: analysis, credit claims and tariff paperwork filed through your retailer. Same wires, same electricity, same reliability — only the charges change.

Find out what your bills are hiding.

One email starts the audit. Attach your meter data and a recent bill — our system validates the data and begins the analysis automatically. If we find nothing, you've lost nothing. If we find money, you keep most of it.
